Old Town, San Diego

Saturday we took the kids to Old Town for the reenactment of the Mormon Battalion. There were games & the kids were able to see how the pioneers trekked over here. They saw how clothes were washed & the games that were played & toys that they had.  A real cannon was set off  & Gavin & Emma thought it was so cool but a little loud. It was good day.

My Birthday

My birthday was the 24th of January & it started on Friday night. We took the kids to my mom's house to spend the night & then Andy & I went to dinner at El Torito. I must say the food was not all good but he company was nice :) We then came home to a verty quite house & just relaxed. In the morning (my birthday) Andy took me to Angelo's to get a ham & cheese croissant which was way yummy then we headed to the mall. Andy bought me perfume from Clinique called "Happy in Bloom" I also got a cute pink beach bag for spending lots of money there. If you haven't gotten yours yet Quincey you better hurry. The bag is way cute. It's for the beach or pool. Later that evening we went to my mom's house to have dinner. My mom made a sweet pork dish with rice & beans that you wrap up into a flour tortilla . It's a recipe from  Cafe Rio (very popular restaurant in Utah!)  VERY GOOD!!!! We then had German Chocolate Cake which Kristen insisted on putting all 37 candles on as you can see from the picture. Grandma was thankful Kristen was not at her 92nd birthday this year cause she would have put all 92 candles on her cake!  Overall I had a wonderful day. :) 

Legoland, Beach, Scrapes & Bruises

We went to Legoland on Monday with Kristen & her cute kids :)  (check out the blue eyed babe on the bottom) 


We took the kids to Swamis on Monday. They had fun looking for shells & sea creatures in the tides.

This is what can happen to you if you do not know how to ride a skateboard. We have a skate park close to our house & on Friday because Gavin had the day off & because the park can be so crowed normally I thought it would be fun to take him. Upon leaving the park I thought I'd be a "cool mom" & show Gavin some moves. Well the move I showed him resulted me on my bum. I scrapped my arm & bruised the heel of the palm of my hand. I'm okay now. Emma asked if I learned my lesson & my reply to her was "Yes, next time I won't fall".  :) 

Happiness Is...............

When you are driving down El Camino Real & hitting all the green lights.........

Happiness is being able to sleep in (very rare at our house)

Happiness is when our kids go to bed at a decent hour & sleeping all night...........

Happiness is when your kids tell you they love you rather than get mad at you for telling them to go to bed.............

And Happiness is MY Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Birthday to ME!!!!!

Okay, so I am bad at posting my Birthday is the 24th (this Saturday) You are all right & thanks for thinking of me :) I guess I jumped the gun a little. I love birthdays can you tell?

Proud Moments (they are few & far between)

Okay first let me say that I am NOT going private yet. A few friends & family members talked me out of it for now.  I am however going to take precationary actions & see how well that works before I make any drastic changes. 

So, here's my proud moment or moments. Yesterday we called Gavin in from playing. It was getting dark & time for dinner.  Andy & I stood outside as we called for him to come home. We noticed that instead of riding his scooter he was walking with it. When he got closer we noticed he was holding his scriptures & journal.  At dinner we asked why he had taken his scriptures & journal outside & he said because a friend of Emma's asked why she could not spend the night. Gavin began telling her friend it's because we go to church the next day & that we don't do those kind of things on a Saturday night. He said to us, "I showed her what we believed, I showed her my scriptures." Andy & I just sat there & smiled. Just when you think nothing is sinking into their brains it is & that is when you feel proud & that you have accomplished something as a parent.  Then my next proud moment & this was more cute then anything but I was sitting in Emma's room with her when all of a sudden she gets super excited & turned to me & says, "Aren't you excited that we get to return to Heavenly Father in the Heavens one day. It made me kinda cry & I blame it mostly cause my hormones are whack but I am so proud of our children. They try so hard to do what is right. I am glad I can be their mommy & I am happy that I get 1 more chance with another.  Now if I could master how to put them to bed & have them sleep decent hours of the night I'll be set!

It's Time....

We are going private. I do not like the idea of other people that I DO NOT KNOW reading my blog. Kinda creepy.
